NEWPORT, RI -- Police arrested John McGuire, 32, of Newport, at the Newport Blues Cafe on Thames Street on Sunday at 12:20 a.m.He is being charged with possession of one ounce or less of marijuana, a first offense. He is also being charged with simple assault and with disorderly conduct, police said.
