NEWPORT, RI — Newport police at 2 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12 arrested Michael J. Rivera. Rivera, 40, of Charlestown, struck a parked car, police said.He was arrested near the corner of Rhode Island Avenue and Kay Street. Rivera was charged with Driving Under the Influence, his first offense and a misdemeanor.
