All are invited to a Community Forum at the to join local volunteers Gail Lowney Alofsin, Kathryn Whitney Lucey and Colleen Hopkins on Wednesday, Jan. 11, as they share their unique stories of poverty in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. The Jan. 11 forum date approaches the two-year anniversary of the devastating earthquake which rocked the island on Jan. 12, 2010.
These active volunteers will review the achievements the Haitian Health Foundation has accomplished in a country mired in poverty and tragedy. Focused on one person at a time, the HHF serves over 250,000 people in Jeremie, Haiti.
Forum leaders will also discuss the power of unrelentinghope and resiliency in addition to the privilege of serving the "poorest of the poor." This forum will illustrate what a dedicated team of volunteers and health professionals are capable of when focused on one person at a time.
