5-week Diabetes Outpatient Education provided by Visiting Nurse Services of Newport & Bristol Counties starts Wed., June 22 at Newport office. Taught by Certified Diabetes Outpatient Educators, this program gives people the tools to better manage their diabetes. Topics include nutrition and meal planning, blood sugar monitoring, medication management, exercise and weight management, and prevention of complications. A doctor's order and pre-registration are required. Most insurances accepted. May have a co-pay. Sliding scale fees available. Affiliated with Hallett Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology and the American Diabetes Association.
