This Friday, October 22nd is the "First (Annual) Soccer Sendoff," between the Thompson Middle School faculty and 8th-grade members of the boy's and girl's soccer teams. The game is meant to create/add to our school spirit. It also serves as a reward of sorts to the 8th-grade soccer players, as they finish their final season of soccer for the school. Lastly, with the game taking place after the conclusion of NECAP testing, it can also be viewed as a way for both students and adults celebrate and enjoy some much needed down time by rooting for their peers as a school community, but in a more relaxed atmosphere.
Hopefully in the future, it will be one of the things that students can look forward to as their time within the middle school is coming to an end.
The game will be played at Braga Park, with a start time between 2:45 and 3 p.m. There will be additional faculty and staff on hand to serve as monitors on the sidelines.
