Author Pam Belluck and Timothy Lepore, MD will be at Newport Public Library, June 23rd at 2 pm together to discuss Pelluck's new book: Island Practice:Cobblestone Rash, Underground Tom and Other Adventures of a Nantucket Doctor. The book chronicles the daily life of Dr. Lepore of Nantucket. The doctor, a general surgeon, is the head of Nantucket Cottage Hospital and has been in practice on the island for over 30 years. While he has treated his share of celebrities while they have been visiting the island the core of his medicial practice are with the year-rounders. Island Practice takes the readers deeply into a world-an island-where life can sometimes seem to be forgotten by the rest of the world! Ms Belluck has been with the New York Times for over 15 years and is a health and medical writer for the newpaper. She is a former Fulbright Scholarship winner. This event is open to the public.
