Have you ever arrived home triumphant with bountiful bags overflowing with colorful greens and luscious ripe vegetables, fresh herbs, flowers that you just can’t grow at home and a loaf or two of rustic bread that smelled so good you couldn’t leave it behind? Sounds like an all too scintillating trip to the local farmer’s market to me! Am I the only one that does this? I think not. Chef Casey Shea, Executive Chef at Jamestown’s Bay Voyage Inn, is going to help direct our lust for local freshness on a walk to the Aquidneck Grower’s Market to “buy our dinner” and then back into the kitchen where he’ll share his passion and culinary knowledge for preparing farm-to-table fresh cuisine. Wear comfortable walking shoes, feel free to bring your own market basket to pick up a few things of your own, and get ready for a hands-on cooking class where we’ll prepare a delightful dinner with the freshest ingredients in town. A light summer wine tasting will be chosen by Newport Wine Cellar. Class fee: $50
