Author Chip Bishop will discuss his book The Lion and the Journalist- the Unlikely Friendship of Teddy Roosevelt and Joseph B Bishop Saturday at 2 pm at Newport Public Library, Newport, RI. Author Bishop used the letters between the President and Bishop who was a newspaperman over many years. Joseph Bishop wrote the president's biography two years after the president died in 1920. Author Bishop is the great grandnephew of Joseph Bishop and had over 600 letters to use in the creation of this book. This is open to the public. Island Books will have his book available for signing and purchase Saturday.
