Evening Weather: When To Expect Rain In Rhode Island

After a warm and sunny day Wednesday, rain is expected to move in this evening and last through Thursday.

Wednesday may have been warm and summery, but the sunshine won't last. Rain is on the way, starting in the evening hours and lasting all day Thursday.

Thunderstorms and showers are possible in the early evening hours, with the chance of rain and storms continuing to rise after 10 p.m. On Thursday, more of the same is expected, with a chance of on-and-off showers and thunderstorms all day. Late Thursday night, the rain will taper off, with sunny skies on the way for the rest of the week and weekend.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 10 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 64. Southwest wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Showers and thunderstorms likely before 9 a.m, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 9 a.m and 4 p.m, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 77. Southwest wind 8 to 10 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
