Fire Department Promotes Five
On June 9, the Newport Fire Department held a ceremony and swearing-in. Five members of the department won promotions.
NEWPORT, RI — Five members of the Newport Fire Department have been promoted. Capt. Paul R. Ripa, Jr. is now deputy chief. Lt. Humphrey J. Donnelly, IV, and Lt. Mark D. Simoes are now captains. Firefighters Allan R. Gray and Aaron R. Buehler have been promoted to lieutenant.
