Four Car Newport Crash Caused By Grabbing Something On the Floor
Three cars needed to be towed away from the Connell Highway Roundabout after a distracted driver caused a four car accident.

NEWPORT, RI — Three cars needed to be towed away from the roundabout at Connell Highway Monday afternoon after a distracted driver caused a four car accident.
"One driver who caused (the) crash looked away to grab something that had fallen on the floor of the car and struck a stopped car in front of her," Newport Police Lieutenant Frank Rosa told Patch. "This caused the chain reaction rear end collision."
One person had to be taken by ambulance to Newport Hospital. Rosa said injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
