Fans of comedian Mike Birbiglia eagerly scooped up tickets for his upcoming show as part of the Newport Comedy Series.
If you're one of those fans and were eagerly waiting for the July 17 performance — some bad news. You'll be eagerly waiting for a bit longer.
The show has been pushed back to Aug. 15, but there's no need to exchange your tickets, according to the folks at the Newport Yachting Center.
Tickets for the July 17 show will be accepted on Aug. 15.
Tickets are still available for the show.
Birbiglia is known for his often self-deprecating humor that relies on cleverness and astute observations of human behavior more than shock and insults. You might get flashbacks of your awkward teenager years while sitting in the crowd.
According to the Newport Comedy Series Web site, Birbiglia "returns to the Newport Comedy Series with more painfully awkward stories in a show about jokes, and how they can get you in trouble. Join Birbiglia as he visits Cats-a-chusetts, argues with a stranger about her nut allergy, hosts an awards show for angry celebrities, and learns that Fozzie Bear is a tough act to follow."
