NEWPORT, RI — The following people were arrested by Newport police between Sept. 4 and Sept. 7.

Sept. 4
2:30 a.m. — Sergio Martinez, 29, of Worcester, Massachusetts, was charged with license or permit required to carry a pistol.

11 a.m. — Matthew Medeiros, 57, of Exeter, was charged with driving with a suspended/revoked/canceled license (fourth or greater offense).
10:34 p.m. — Maria Smith, 23, of Portland, Maine, was charged with disorderly conduct and felony assault and/or battery.

7:25 p.m. — Tyler Walmsley, 43, of Newport, was charged with obstructing an officer in the execution of duty, resisting legal or illegal arrest, and domestic-disorderly conduct.
Sept. 6
2:25 p.m. — Everett Johnson, 46, of Newport, was charged with possession of a schedule I-V drug.
10:20 p.m. — Richard Budlong, 26, of Newport, was charged with resisting legal or illegal arrest, possession of firearms by certain persons prohibited, carrying a weapon while intoxicated, polymer/ghost gun prohibited, and license or permit t carry a concealed pistol or revolver.
Sept. 7
1 p.m. — Octavia Boyd, 24, of Middletown, was charged with fraudulent use of credit cards.
4:43 p.m. — Lina Ferruolo, 66, of Westerly, was charged with shoplifting.
