How Do RI Public Schools Rate In The Nation?

NEWPORT, RI—Massachusetts has the best public schools in the U.S. As for Rhode Island, the Ocean State eked out a 25th place rank but didn't even crack the top 20, according to a new study by Wallet Hub, the personal finance experts. The Ocean State was by far the worst public education state in New England. New Hampshire ranked third best in the U.S., followed by Vermont in fifth place; Connecticut in eighth place; and Maine at number 10.

So what does Wallet Hub know about education?

Here's how they came up with their rankings.

"WalletHub’s analysts compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across two key dimensions, including “Quality” and “Safety.”

Rhode Island did score high in one category. It had the fourth lowest incidence of bullying.
