Hurricane Isaias Could Bring Heavy Rain, Wind To Rhode Island
The hurricane is expected to move up the East Coast over the weekend, possibly hitting New England early next week.
NEWPORT, RI — Hurricane Isaias is expected to make its way up the East Coast this weekend, reaching New England by early next week. Rhode Island could see heavy rain and wind on Tuesday, though there is still a lot of uncertainty in the forecast, the National Weather Service said.
At this time, no watches or warnings are in effect, since they are issued approximately 36 hours before any expected impacts.
"A lot of uncertainty exists in nearly all aspects of the forecast," NWS saids Friday afternoon, adding that the that five-day margin of error is about 200 miles.

Depending on if the storm tracks west or stays over the water, Rhode Island could experience winds over 40 mph, heavy rain and localized flooding and storm surge.
