Island Moving Company presents-Moment to Moment

Newport’s contemporary ballet company moves up to DownCity with a first ever performance on the stage of the magnificent Vets Memorial Auditorium in Providence. Miki Ohlsen has assembled a distinguished group of choreographers to create a diverse program showcasing the expressive physicality of the Island Moving Co. dancers. Each piece on the program will be accompanied by live music, played onstage by RI musicians, assembled and rehearsed by Community MusicWorks musician Adrienne Taylor.

The program will include a world premiere by Providence’s Mark Harootian, as well as Providence premieres of works by Joe Celej, Miki Ohlsen, Bill Evans, and Colin Connor (recently named Artistic Director of the Jose Limon Company in New York).
