Second Star To The Right: A Tale Of Hook And Pan

A new Island Moving Company production set at Fort Adams State Park on the tall ship, Oliver Hazard Perry!

Island Moving Co., Newport’s contemporary ballet company, presents a new site specific production, in the tradition of its renowned Newport Nutcracker at Rosecliff and the Company’s legendary Dracula at Belcourt Castle.

In partnership with Newport’s new Tall Ship, Oliver Hazard Perry, Artistic Director Miki Ohlsen presents Second Star to the Right: A Tale of Hook and Pan, danced on the docks at Fort Adams and the decks and rigging of Oliver Hazard Perry. Performances are September 8, 9 & 10th.

Danced to an original score by Tobias Andrews, Second Star to the Right features the Island Moving Co. dancers as well as community members and musicians. Members of Oliver Hazard Perry’s crew worked with IMC dancers to introduce young dancers to the ship at an onsite Adventure Camp earlier in the summer. The ballet is presented with support from Oliver Hazard Perry Rhode Island and Fort Adams Trust, with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
