In Jail Cell, Prisoner Learns About One Extra Charge He Will Face

Ryan M. Dennis, 23, of Newport was charged again on Dec. 14 when his former employer accused him to stealing $900.

NEWPORT, RI— Newport detectives hardly needed any time at all to apprehend a suspect when a local restaurant called and said former employee Ryan M. Dennis was caught on surveillance tape allegedly stealing $900.

Police just walked back to the cell block and let Dennis, 23, of Newport, know he'd be facing another misdemeanor, larceny under $1,500.

He was in the cell block because police arrested him earlier that morning on two unrelated charges.
