Juvenile Threatens to Kill Group Home Counselor: Police Allege
A 14-year-old girl was sent to the State Training School after she allegedly broke items at the group home & threw a chair over a balcony.

NEWPORT, RI—Officers took down a 14-year-old girl at the group home on Girard Avenue on Tuesday after she destroyed furniture, broke toys and threatened to kill one of the counselors, police said.
The girl, whose name is not being released due to her age, allegedly asked one of the counselors for money and became angry when the counselor refused.
The counselor told police it is policy not to give money for the overnight to juvenile who represent a flight risk.

The teen allegedly threatened to kill the counselor. She also threatened to throw a stapler at the counselor's head
The staff told police the girl became angry at them and broke a curtain rod. Police allege she also destroyed several items that did not belong to her, threw things around the room, tossed a chair over a balcony and screamed profanities. They also found a wood table "in shards" and Lego pieces strewn about.

When officers went to her room to arrest her, she resisted and two police officers took her down. She landed on a bed.
She was charged with disorderly conduct (making threats); resisting arrest; and vandalism, malicious injury to property, police said.
