A 26-year-old Newport man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly accepting and trying to profit from a shipment of wheel spacers sent to his address by mistake.
Police charged Antonio Fabio Pena, 26, of 90 Girard Ave., Newport, with larceny and obtaining money under false pretenses on Tuesday after an investigation that began with a report of a theft of wheel spacers on April 28.
The victim, a Newport man, told police that he bought four wheel spacers off Ebay and realized they were delivered to his old address on Festival Field.

Police soon learned that Pena was living at the Festival Field address and once they finally reached him, he reportedly admitted to taking them when they were delivered to his house.
During the investigation, police filed a subpoena to obtain the IP address of the person selling the wheel spacers on craigslist.
The spacers reportedly ended up at a pawn shop in Fall River, which gave Pena $10 for them.
In the end, police were able to get the wheel spacers returned to the victim and because Pena was unable to return the $10 to the pawn shop, he incurred the extra charge of obtaining money under false pretenses.
Pena is due to appear in court on June 11.
