RI Weather Forecast: Stormy Weather Friday

NEWPORT, RI — The National Weather Service in Taunton, Massachusetts, has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Friday. All of Rhode Island is affected. Some minor road flooding is anticipated due to rain on Friday.

Rain with thunderstorms is possible after 4 p.m. Most of the accumulation will come at night. During the day, 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch is forecast, but at night, look for totals between 1 and 2 inches. Expect a thunderstorm bringing heavy rain before 9 p.m., then more rain and another thunderstorm after 11 p.m. Friday night southeast wind will be around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
