Luxury Hotel Coming To Downtown Newport

NEWPORT, RI – A new luxury hotel is coming to downtown Newport. The Brenton Hotel is set to open at 31 America's Cup Boulevard in the spring of 2020. Demolition at the construction site began last week.

According to a press release from the company, the five-story hotel will have 57 rooms as well as space for parking and events. Artist renderings of the building show an airy, modern look that stands out from the historical architecture of the area.

"The development team worked closely with City and State officials and the Newport Historic District Commission to ensure the contemporary architectural design details of the hotel are consistent with Newport’s historic character," the release said.

The hotel is owned by the LWH, LLC investment group and will be operated by the Newport-based White Horse Hospitality.

Each of the hotel's rooms promises to have floor-to-ceiling windows to capitalize on the water views as well as other modern amenities and decor. The company has not released planned room rates at this time.
