Man Beaten over Video Game

Polcie charged Ryan J. Allan, 25, of 156 Park Holm, Newport, with simple assault Monday at 8:40 p.m.

Police said they were dispatched to Park Holm for a report of a disturbance and after an investigation, officers determined that Allan allegedly punched another person several times during an argument over a video game.

Allan had left the scene by the time police arrived. Police tried to find him but he reportedly came to police headquarters on Broadway about two hours later to talk with detectives and he was arrested without incident.

He was later released with a summons to appear in Second Division District Court on June 21.
