Chevry then reportedly threw the punch.

The victim said he was on a bench with his friend before the assault.

A small window located in the front of the shop was broken. Police noted there was shattered glass and drops of blood all over the ground.

An employee of the shop said he saw two men on the bench when another two men walked into the store. They then walked out carrying a pizza, at which point the victim allegedly said “I think those guys are gay because one is wearing white and the other is wearing pink.”

The two men, Chevry and an unidentified man, turned around and asked if they had just called gay. The victim said he didn’t know what they were talking about. The victim then stood up and Chevry allegedly threw his punch.

Chevry and his friend were nearby when police arrived and he was taken into custody without incident.

He was later released and is due to appear in court on July 1.
