Man Stabbed, Shot With BB Gun In Newport: Police
Newport police said officers arrested accused attacker J-Sean Murphy.
NEWPORT, RI — A man is facing felony assault charges after police were approached by a bleeding victim on Friday. A man went up to Newport officers who were posted near Festival Field Apartments Friday night and told them he had been shot. Police said the man was bleeding heavily.
According to police, the wound was in the man's chest and they learned he had been shot by a BB gun and stabbed. The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital — his condition was unknown.
Within minutes of the assault, police said they found the suspect, J-Sean Murphy, near the Park Holm area. He surrendered peacefully to police and was charged with felony assault.
