Man Stabbed While Playing Guitar In Newport
Police learned the two suspects tried to rob him while he was playing his guitar in Queen Anne Square.

NEWPORT, RI — Two suspected are under arrest after reportedly stabbing a 27-year-old man at Thames Street.
Police identified the suspects as Christopher Paixao, 29 and Andrew Strattner, 28. Both are from Newport and are charged with assault, first degree robbery, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
According to Newport Police, officers found a 27-year-old local man suffering from a stab wound on his right hip. Police learned the two suspects tried to rob him while he was playing his guitar in Queen Anne Square. Witnesses said the suspects ran away.

Patrol officers found the suspects while conducting a traffic stop in the Mary Street Parking Lot.
The victim was taken to Newport Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. Police said he was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for further treatment.
