Man Waving BB Gun at Pineapple Inn Arrested
Police said he yelled at a group of children telling everyone he was going to "shoot everyone" if they wouldn't quiet down.
A 54-year-old Newburyport, Mass., man was charged with disorderly conduct and a weapons law violation after he allegedly brandished a BB gun and threatened to “shoot everyone” after emerging from his room at the Pineapple Inn on Sunday.
Police said David T. O’Rourke, 54, of 19 Virginia Lane, Newburyport, Mass., frightened several people after he flashed the gun and yelled at children playing at the property behind the hotel.
According to a police report, the first call came in at around 4 p.m. for a report with a man who had a gun in room 140.

Police arrived to find O’Rourke, who smelled like alcohol and showed signs of intoxication.
A search of his room, to which he consented, turned up a BB gun, BBs, CO2 cartridges and a magazine.

The caller told police that she as in the parking lot to pick up her nephew when O’Rourke came out of his room holding a gun in his hand yelling that the children needed to stop fighting.
He continued to yell and wave the gun around, the witness said, screaming he was going to “shoot everyone.”
Police seized the gun and issued O’Rourke a Municipal Court citation for possession of an airgun, which is prohibited by city ordinance.
He was taken into custody and held overnight for arraignment Monday.
