Middletown Woman, 72, Killed In Crash On Newport Bridge
The vehicle hit a concrete barrier before crashing into a concrete post and a metal pole at the tolling plaza, state police said.

JAMESTOWN, RI — A woman from Middletown died early Sunday afternoon following a crash on the Newport Bridge. State police identified the victim as 72-year-old Mary Clark.
According to state police, the crash happened just after 12:30 p.m. in the westbound lane at the toll plaza on the Jamestown side of the bridge. Clark hit a concrete barrier before crashing into a concrete post and metal pole head-on. She was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is not known at this time.
