National Grid Puts Out Call For Plumbers, Electricians

NEWPORT, R.I. -- Calling all plumbers and electricians: National Grid is looking for your help with Newport's gas outage. The organization posted the call on their website, saying they are looking for individuals willing to be on-call to assist as soon as today.

According to National Grid's website, the company is looking for people who can help with the following:

• Plumbers to drain down houses with forced hot water heat and domestic hot water heaters so that they don’t freeze.
• Plumbers to dedicate their resources for at least three days including today.
• Space heaters that are going to be made available from National Grid may or may not be suitable due to customers circuit panels and may or may not be able to support the units. Electricians will need to double check these on a case by case basis.
