Navy Invites Community to Holiday Celebration

NEWPORT, RI—The Navy Band's Christmas concert is coming up. The President of the Naval War College and the Commanding Officer of Naval Station Newport invite everyone to come and celebrate the holiday season with Navy Band Northeast’s Pops Ensemble on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. in Spruance Auditorium at the Naval War College.

"This free concert will be a fun-filled musical experience for the entire family to enjoy," the Navy's press office said. Also, "Santa is expected to visit during the concert."

Here's how to sign up.

Members of the general public who are interested in attending must call or email Naval Station Newport Public Affairs by 4 p.m. on Dec. 8 to have their full names (and those of their adult guests over the age of 18) placed on an access list.

All adults will be expected to show a government issued photo ID card upon arrival at Gate 1 for the concert. Vehicle operators must also have a current driver’s license, current vehicle registration and proof of insurance when driving onboard the installation.

The show is approximately 1¼ hours. Guests are reminded that food and drink are not allowed inside Spruance Auditorium for the concert and that any bags carried in are subject to inspection.
