NEWPORT, RI — After being closed for nearly a week, Fort Adams Beach is once again open to the public. The Rhode Island Department of Health announced that bacteria levels are once again normal on Wednesday night. That same day, Ginny B’s Campground Beach in Foster was closed to swimming.

"RIDOH will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout the summer season. The status of a beach may change on a daily basis," the department said in a release.

The most up-to-date information on Rhode Island beaches is available by calling RIDOH's prerecorded beach hotline at 401-222-2751.
