John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier married at St. Mary's in 1953 and the church will "return in time" to the storied moment on Dec. 27

Newport served as a backdrop for the marriage between John Fitzgerald Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier in 1953.

They wed at St. Mary’s Church in Newport, the oldest Roman Catholic Parish in Rhode Island and a designated National Historic Shrine that draws visitors from around the world for its role in American history.

On Dec. 27 from 7 to 8 p.m., the church will “return in time” to that moment when the wedding took place.
