Newport Comedy Series Announces First Four Shows

The 2013 Mattie Volkswagen Audi Newport Summer Comedy Series is proud to announce its first four shows for next summer, starring four of the biggest stars in stand-up comedy. The series will be returning to the Newport Yachting Center.

Brian Regan appears on the Newport waterfront July 18 for what will be another hysterical family-friendly show. Brian has established himself as one of the premier comedians in the country. He has starred in two critically acclaimed Comedy Central television specials and appeared on “Late Night with David Letterman” more than 20 times. He has become a southeastern New England favorite after three previous sensational performances in Newport over the past six years.

Lisa Lampanelli, the lovable “Queen of Mean” brings her outrageous show back to the Newport Summer Comedy Series on August 2nd. Fasten your seat belts. She is an equal opportunity offender, a regular on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and Howard Stern’s Sirius satellite radio shows. Lisa has also appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman”, “Chelsea Lately” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live”. Stern has called her “a true original and a brilliant comedy mind who will steal the show every time.”

Jeff Dunham, is sure to have the Newport Yachting Center tent rocking on on August 18th. Jeff’s television specials and series have been the highest-rated programming in Comedy Central history. His DVD sales have reached more than seven million units, his videos have received a staggering half-billion views on YouTube and his live concerts have become mega-events played in front of packed arenas worldwide. No wonder Time Magazine wrote that this multi-talented comedian ventriloquist is “the most popular comedian in the United States” and Forbes named him to its Celebrity 100 list of most powerful entertainers three years running.

Ron “Tater Salad”White is not only one of the funniest standup comedians in the country, but one of the top three grossing standup comedians over the past five years. His three previous appearances at the Newport Summer Comedy Series have all been smash hit sellouts performances. Ron is best known as the cigar smoking, scotch drinking funnyman from the “Blue Collar Comedy” phenomenon. But with two Grammy nominations, a Gold Record, three of the top rated comedy television specials in Comedy Central history, a book that has appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list and with CD and DVD of more than 10 million units, Ron has established himself as a star in his own right.
