Newport Lions Welcome 5 New Members

Five members inducted at Newport Lions Club 93rd Anniversary Meeting

The Newport Lions Club celebrated the beginning of their 93rd year of service to the community by welcoming five new members into the club. The induction ceremony was conducted by District 42 District Governor Mary Ann Hutchins at The Mainstay Hotel and Conference Center.

New members include John Pimentel, Vice President of the National federation of the Blind RI. John is also on the staff at InSight, where their missions is to inspire confidence, build skills and empower people who are blind and visually impaired. John is an RN, Vision Rehabilitation Teacher and Diabetes Instructor.

The Lions also welcomed a family into the club. Brett and Jessica Hobson and their twin daughters, Mallorie and Aleksandra joined the Newport Lions. Brett is an Investment Strategist, and Jessica is a Staffing and training Supervisor. The girls are enthusiastic third graders at the Colt Andrews Scholl in Bristol, RI.

The Newport Lions encourage families to join their organization - the children benefit by being exposed to the importance and joys of volunteering at a young age, and the family benefits by spending more time together and sharing the volunteer experience.
