Newport Man Accused of Punching a Hole in a Closet Door
Frankie Lee Thomas, 24, of Newport, was charged with Domestic Vandalism after he allegedly smacked a closet door.

NEWPORT, RI—Frankie Lee Thomas, 24, of Newport, was charged with Domestic disorderly conduct and Vandalism (malicious injury to property) in connection with an incident at his home April 29 at 10:32 p.m. According to the police report, Thomas's mother called officers after he allegedly punched a hole in a closet door and threw a television on the floor during an argument. Initially, the mother said Thomas came home from work and became angry when he learned her grandchildren were staying over. But later, she changed her story and told police Thomas was a good son. She had punched the hole in the door herself.
On May 1, he turned himself into police, who said Thomas was being charged with vandalism because the door was property of the Housing Authority.
