Newport Man Charged with Child Porn
Newton Spencer, 77, allegedly posted the material on social media.
State Police said they charged a Newport man with possession of child pornography.
Newton Spencer, 77, of 33 Van Zandt Ave., was arrested Wednesday and scheduled to be arraigned in Newport later in the day.
State Police said they launched an investigation after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Spencer was uploading sexually suggestive images of children to social media sites. Police said they also found child porn on digital media in his home.
