Newport police charged Robert Sharps, 39, of 448 Gibbs Ave., Newport, with felony domestic assault on a person over 60 on Wednesday.Police said Sharps backed a car out of a driveway while arguing with the victim, who was thrown out of the car and suffered injuries to his elbow and hand.Police said Sharps was arrested without incident was to appear in Second Division District Court on Thursday.
