Newport Man Charged With Fighting Cops Outside Police Station
Police said the man fought with officers in the parking lot who were responding to an argument.

Newport Police charged Jermaine Raheen Brewster, 31, of 7 Roy Ave., Middletown, with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest Tuesday morning after he allegedly fought with officers in the parking lot of the police station on Broadway.
Police said Brewster was agitated and quarreling with a woman in the parking lot. When police asked what was going on, Jermain reportedly started yelling at the officers. He then lunged towards police, who were forced to take him to the ground to be handcuffed.
Brewster reportedly refused to get out of a woman’s car, sparking the argument. When officers went outside to investigate, he was outside of the car and began yelling, telling police that he knew that they were going to “lock him up.”
