Newport Man Charged with Indecent Solicitation of a Child
Police say Edwin Cintron used a computer to solicit a child for sex.

The Rhode Island State Police arrested a 24-year-old Newport man for allegedly soliciting a child for sex on Monday after a Computer Crimes/Internet Crimes Against Children Task force investigation.
Edwin Cintron, of 20 Chapel St., Apt. 57, Newport, was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Michael J. Robinson and held on $10,000 surety bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston.
The state police said Cintron was arrested after a joint investigation between the task force and the West Greenwich Police Department.

All told, Cintron was charged with two counts of indecent solicitation of a child and one count of electronic dissemination of indecent material to a minor.
Cintron was ordered not to have any contact with minors or use the internet as a condition of bail.
