Newport Police Arrest Pair of Drug Dealers
Stepped up efforts to crack down on drug dealing in the city is paying dividends.

Newport Police on Tuesday arrested a pair of alleged drug dealers who police said have been selling cocaine across the city and Aquidneck Island.
It’s one of a string of similar arrests over the past few months after the department recently made it a priority to crack down on drug dealing here in Newport.
This time, Kyle M. Rich, 26, of 12 Harvey Road, Middletown; and Anton E. Fisher, 34, of 30 Prospect Hill St., Newport, are facing various charges for what police say was a business relationship dealing cocaine.

According to a police report, both men were arrested Tuesday night after a lengthy investigation into Rich’s alleged street dealing of cocaine in the Newport area.
During the investigation, police learned that Rich allegedly was being supplied by Fisher.

Police detectives set up a controlled buy and bought a small amount of cocaine from Rich, who delivered it while driving his car, which police later saw being used to resupply at Fisher’s Middletown residence.
Both men were arrested and held for arraignment Wednesday in Second Division District Court. Police noted that Fisher has a license to carry a gun from Portsmouth police.
A search of Fishers apartment turned up a bag containing 20 grams of cocaine. They also found a 50mg bottle of Winstrol, a steroid, tamoxifen citrate, an unknown powder substance and an unknown liquid substance “suspected to be steroids,” according to a police report.
Police also seized two digital scales, pill crushers and a bottle of Inositol, a cocaine cutting agent.
Police found other cocaine cutting agents in the apartment.
Rich is being charged with narcotics possession. Fisher is being charged with delivery of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and possession of steroids.
Fisher was ordered held without bail. Rich was being held on surety bail and it is unknown if it had been posted.
