Newport Police, CRU Café Hosting 3rd Annual Joint Holiday Coat Drive

NEWPORT, RI — Are you looking to get in the holiday giving spirit a little early this season?

For a third straight year, Newport police and CRU Café Newport are partnering to hold their annual coat drive.

For this year's drive, participants can donate new children's coats for ages 1-to-17 to CRU Café at 1 Casino Terrace, from Wednesday to Nov. 22. Coats can also be dropped off in the lobby of the Newport Police Department.

Over the last two years, police and the restaurant were able to donate hundreds of coats to local nonprofit organizations in Newport, the department said. This year, police said the coats will be donated to Newport Public Schools.
