Newport Police Log: Man Arrested for Felony Breaking and Entering Charge

The following information was provided by the Newport Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Jalil S. Logan, 21, of 94 Walton St., Providence, was arrested around 1:29 am on Tuesday, Sept. 27, for a felony breaking and entering charge.

Police were dispatched to 124 Park Holm for a breaking and entering report. Dispatched reported Logan had allegedly stolen a cell phone charger.

The resident, who was home at the time, said she was sleeping upstairs when she woke up and saw Logan standing over her bed. She told police he was a friend. According to reports, she told him to get out and, while following him out, noticed a window screen was open as well as the blinds.

Police found Logan, who admitted to being at the house. Reports said he admitted to going inside to get the charger, but when upstairs to inform his friend that her door was unlocked.

Diandra M. Atwood,  28, of West Dover, V.T., was arrested around 12:31 am on Saturday, Sept. 24, for DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test charges.

Alex R. Ruizzo, 23, of 7 Rockycliff Ave., Lincoln, was cited around 1:50 am on Saturday, Sept. 24, for possession of alcohol in public.

Noise Violations

Elizabeth Irwin, 31, of 74 Spring St., Newport, was cited around 2:20 am on Saturday, Sept. 24, for a noise violation.

Wade Paquin, 35, of 74 Spring St., Newport, was cited around 2:20 am on Saturday, Sept. 24, for a noise violation.

Other Arrests

Chrisonya Bailey, 18, of 27.5 Edward St., Newport, was arrested around 11:08 am on Saturday, Sept. 24, for a larceny charge. 

James E. Pavao, 48, of 9 Newport Ave., Newport, was arrested around 9:59 pm on Sunday, Sept. 25, for an active warrant.

Michaela J. Davis, 34, of 93 East Main Rd., Portsmouth, was arrested around 4:05 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 26, for an active warrant. 

A 14-year-old Newport girl was arrested around 6:30 pm on Monday, Sept. 26, for a shoplifting charge. Police were dispatched to Walmart for a report of the girl placing items in her purse. The store recovered four sets of head phones and a car audio cable.
