Newport Police Log: Recent Arrests
An emergency room patient is arrested at Newport Hospital, and a Newport man is charged with violating a no contact order twice.

NEWPORT, RI — Here are some recent arrests from the Newport police log.
Haily Norma Sousa, 24, of North Kingstown, was arrested on May 2 at 1:12 a.m. Police stopped her car on Broadway near Stone Street. She was charged with Driving under the Influence, first offense; and Refusal to submit to a chemical test. She also was cited for a marijuana violation.
Carlos Moran, 44, of Newport, was charged on May 2 at 8:51 a.m. with Driving without a license (or on an expired license), his second offense. Police stopped his car after he went through a stop sign.

Taylor Elizabeth Hill, 28, of Newport, was charged with disorderly conduct May 2 at 2 p.m. According to the police report, she
Lukasz Pawel Kotarbinski, 27, of Newport, was charged on May 2 at 4:30 p.m. with violating two no contact orders. According to the police report, on April 28, he went to an address where he was not supposed to go. Then on May 2, police allege, he attempted to reach someone, in spite of a no contact order.

James Louis Coppa, 53, of Newport, was charged with Simple Assault and Battery on May 2 at 7:15 p.m. According to the police report, Coppa was in the emergency room being examined when he allegedly became combative and kicked a staff member in the leg. The victim was not injured but wanted to press charges.
