
NEWPORT, RI — Police charged four people on May 29 and May 30. One turned herself in after a minor accident. One was arrested for domestic violence. One person was taken into custody on a drunk driving charge. The fourth refused to leave a restaurant. Here are the arrests from the police log.
Matthew Young, 25 or 26, of Boston, Mass., was arrested at 12:15 a.m. on May 29 at the Wyndham Resort and Inn on the Harbor. He was charged with Domestic Simple Assault or battery. He was also charged with Domestic Disorderly Conduct.
Allison Rose Guerrera, 30 or 31, of Portsmouth, was stopped at 2:33 a.m. on May 29 near the corner of East Bowery and Freebody streets. She was charged with Driving under the influence, first offense, and with Refusal to submit to a chemical test.

On May 30 at 12:13 a.m. Quinn Garvey, 20, of Middletown, was charged with Willful Trespass after he allegedly refused to leave the Fastnet Pub on Broadway. Police said they arrived and chased Garvey on foot after he fled. Officers allege they found a small amount of marijuana and a nip bottle on him when he was taken into custody. He was charged with possession of marijuana (1 oz. or less) by a person over 18, and with alcohol possession (as a minor under 21). He was given a summons and released to his mother's custody.
Faith Marie Peterson, 23 or 24, of Newport, turned herself into police at 10 a.m. on May 30. She told officers she had backed into another car at the Hill Mart on Connell Highway. She had no insurance, and her vehicle is not registered, police allege. She was given a summons for Leaving the scene of a collision (damage to vehicle) and with Driving without a license (or with an expired license), third or subsequent offense.
