Newport Woman Crashes Into Vickers' Liquors

NEWPORT, RI — A woman from Newport crashed into a liquor store Thursday morning when she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

When police came to the scene at Vickers' Liquors Store, they said they found the front end of the 85-year-old woman's car sticking inside a broken window at the the storefront.

"There was a broken window, damaged wall, and destroyed alcohol," Newport Police Lieutenant Frank Rosa told Patch."

Rosa said the woman was the only one involved in the accident. She nor anyone inside the store were hurt.
