Newport Woman Trashes Apartment, Arrested on a Domestic Vandalism Charge
Police found a kitchen chandelier ripped off the ceiling, a glass coffee table and a big screen TV in shards and a broken kitchen window.

NEWPORT, RI -- No one was home. The resident was attending a graduation in Providence. But sometime before 6 p.m. Tuesday, police say, Yolonda Olivia Stedford broke a kitchen window at Chapel Terrace and vandalized the place.
Officers were called to the complex for a report about someone destroying property. They found a kitchen window smashed and glass splinters all over the floor; a kitchen chandelier ripped out of the ceiling and smashed on a table; a computer screen ling upside down on the floor, a 50-inch flat screen television smashed and a glass coffee table similarly broken.
Stedman, 27, of Newport, was charged with simple assault and battery; domestic vandalism/ property damage; and resisting arrest, police said.
