Newport's Evening for Education Benefit Planned for June 19

Last year, $25,000 was raised to enrich the experiences of students in Newport Public Schools.

The Newport Public Education Foundation has announced plans for its annual benefit event, Evening for Education.

It has been scheduled for Friday, June 19, at 6:00 p.m. in the Edward King House in Newport. All funds raised will go directly to fund the mission and programs of the Newport Public Education Foundation and support the funding of NPEF Enrichment Grants for classrooms, schools and community organizations to provide educational opportunities for the students of Newport Public Schools.

This past school year, the Foundation funded over $25,000 in grant requests which provided enrichment experiences directly and positively impacting the students of Newport Public Schools. The annual Noreen Stoner Drexel Awards for Friend of Education, Partner in Education and Unsung Hero will be presented during the event.
