No Solution Yet in Case of Pond Avenue Dumpster
An Automatic Teller Machine was found in the dumpster, but no one is saying how it got there.

NEWPORT, RI — Police are still investigating a strange case involving an Automatic Teller Machine, which was found Dec. 2 in a dumpster on Pond Avenue.
Pond Avenue resident William Griffin said officers knocked on his door around 7:30 that morning. They asked if he had heard any loud noises or anything suspicious.
Griffin and other neighbors said they had not heard any unusual noises.

Police were canvassing the neighborhood looking for information, he said.
Griffin said officers told him a stolen ATM had been found in a dumpster by the side of the building.

Newport Police Sgt. Jason Kleinknecht said detectives are still on the case, but there's been no news.
