Patrick Chancellor Murphy, 29, of Newport, RI, passed away on Saturday, November 8th, 2014 in Delray Beach, Florida.

Patrick Chancellor Murphy, 29, of Newport, RI, passed away on Saturday, November 8th, 2014 in Delray Beach, Florida. Patrick was born in Newport, RI on September 6th, 1985. Patrick was the son of Tina Murphy-Reynolds and the late Thomas “Chic” Murphy.
Patrick graduated from Rogers High School in 2004, where he played tennis and was known for his charming sense of humor and candor. Patrick loved to make people laugh and could turn anyone’s day around with his fabulous personality. Patrick played 5th Ward Little League and was proud to be a “5WA” 5th Ward All-star. He played Babe Ruth League baseball and Pop Warner football where he was known as Murph. Pat was a proud Fifth Warder. Patrick had such a love for the ocean. You could often find him at Gooseberry Beach, Green Bridge, First & Second Beach, Cliff Walk, Kings Park or Rejects Beach where he was a self-described professional body-surfer.
Patrick was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and was very proud of his Irish ancestry. He took several trips to Ireland with his father and brother.
Patrick leaves behind his mother Tina Murphy-Reynolds and James McLoughlin of Jamestown, brother Justin Murphy, his Grandfather Elmer Reynolds, his late Grandmother Marion Reynolds all from Newport, his late Grandparents Joseph and Eileen Murphy, late Uncle Stephen Murphy from Middletown, his many uncles; William Reynolds his wife Beverly of Middletown, Late Uncle John his wife Lauren Reynolds of Bristol, Elmer Reynolds Jr. his wife Lynn Reynolds of Middletown, late Uncle Mark Reynolds of Boston Mass, and his uncle Douglas Reynolds of Florida. He also leaves behind many cousins of the Reynolds’, Rosa’s and O’Flaherty’s, and so very many friends.
He will be truly missed. He will be forever known for his ability, much like his late father, to light up a room with his humor and vivid personality.
Visiting hours were from 4-7pm on Friday, November 14th at O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10am on Saturday, November 15th, at St. Augustin’s Church, Carroll Avenue, Newport. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Potter League for Animals. To help honor Patrick’s love and passion for all animals.
