One Race to Watch: Senate President M. Teresa Paiva Weed versus Independent Sav Rebecchi

NEWPORT, RI – On the face of it, Jamestown's Sav Rebecchi shouldn't have any chance of knocking off Senate President M. Paiva Weed.

He's running as an Independent, without major party backing. She's a Democrat in an historically blue state. She has a campaign war chest. He doesn't and figures he would need to spend into the ten's of thousands to make a game of it. She's been in office for more than 20 years.

But, as Rebecchi pointed out, the Cubbies just won the World Series.

Paiva Weed, for her part, is running her own race and sticking to her agenda.
