NEWPORT, RI – On the face of it, Jamestown's Sav Rebecchi shouldn't have any chance of knocking off Senate President M. Paiva Weed.
He's running as an Independent, without major party backing. She's a Democrat in an historically blue state. She has a campaign war chest. He doesn't and figures he would need to spend into the ten's of thousands to make a game of it. She's been in office for more than 20 years.
But, as Rebecchi pointed out, the Cubbies just won the World Series.
